I am happy :)
Went to a few agencies and they weren't taking on any temps, but then went to Brook Street and they were wonderful! Got a job within about 15 mins of walking in the door. Did the whole skills test thing - my audio typing speed is now 93 wpm (she said very loudly that she'd never registered anyone as fast as that before, which made me blush furiously :P) I am working for 6 days from Friday on a (slightly but significantly) higher pay rate than I got from Blue Arrow. Plus the work sounds skilled! Hooray, how novel!! It was a really nice, friendly branch.
I'm looking forward to starting and earning some money again :) She said I can expect lots of work because of my audio speed. I am so chuffed that I even have half baked ideas about transferring to a Bristol branch of Brook Street (if there is one) and getting permenant audio typing work through them or something :p We shall see.
I didn't find a Care Bear at all, so bought some moonflower shower gel and raspberry kiddie's conditioner from the Body Shop sale. Tried on some grey trousers I liked in Miss Selfridge but all they had was size 16 (way too big) and size 14 (slightly big - hurrah! - and also 'longer length' which I am definitely not). So didn't get any, but am quite chuffed that I must be losing weight if I am too small for a Miss Selfridge size 14 ;)
Saw some knee high rainbow stripy socks and many other funky sparkly and Miffy socks in Top Shop which I MUST buy. When I have money.
Which will be sooooon :D Hooray!

There are lots of carebears on ebay :o)

I saw that shower gel today as well, but passed as it was such a small bottle for 2 quid!

Re:
:( Have you tried a Brook St?

I went for it because the discount was good (I think it was half price?) :) I will use it on special occasions or something! Really wanted the brandied apple candles but we probably have too many.. but they smell so nice! Argh, could spend a fortune in that shop..

Re:
Hmm :( I'd say try them anyway though because I've heard the reed site isn't that good.. do you have a good typing speed? I can only think that it's all this internet stuff that got me my typing speed.. but I'm too ashamed to tell the recruiters that!

Re:
I have about 50wpm copy typing. Have never done audio typing so dont know what that would be!

As for the Reed website, several companies have asked for more details etc, from jobs I've applied for on it. Same with Dave.

Re:
I find it easier. Speed was 74 wpm on copy typing.. much less.
Really? I heard that sometimes the jobs on the site have already gone and that they go quickly.. maybe thats just the temp ones.
Which agencies have you tried so far? I don't suppose your council has a sort of pool of temps that they use? Mine doesn't but Bristol does so maybe others do..

If you're not able to find Care Bear merchandise locally, you could always try shopping online. There's nothing in the town where I live, and you have to drive an hour away for real shopping - so this is a method that's worked for me.

I have tried but not really seen anything. Although Ebay has some things. I can't believe how materialistic I must be to get obsessive about a bloody care bear :p they are cute though.

Re:
Oh, don't feel materialistic. I'm SOO happy to see some 80's cartoon stuff coming back - HeMan, Smurfs, Transformers, Care Bears; even Strawberry Shortcake is having a new cartoon. I REALLY missed those cartoons, and hopefully they'll have something on Cartoon Planet where it's a block of time each day w/ 80's cartoons.

Also, I collect Donald Duck stuff, so don't feel weird about trying to fine a Care Bear or two *grin*

Blatant advert, sorry
Yesterday I created a new community, aber, for all residents (and also people who just like) Aberystwyth.

Basically, I'll try and put postings of things that are going to be happening in the town in here as often as I can, and I'd hope that any members do too.

Lets hope it takes off.

Join the community.

He drew the pics. All the rooms :) That is, before they decided to just use stills of castles and trees airbrushed pink or green instead of illustrations :(
Apparently they're showing it on Challenge TV twice a day at the moment!

Wow! I'm dead envious of your dad now. Pity I don't have any sort of tv other than the normal4 channels (S4C and Channel 5 both count as half a channel in my book :p)

They really really so - although to my mind it did go downhill considerably in the last couple of series. Was this just me getting older, or did it really?
