I never had a Care Bear as a kid.
And I always wanted one. Specifically Birthday bear because it had a cake on it's tummy.
Well, now I am 22 and I have no money but the damned Care Bears are back in the shops and I am damned well going to buy one and cuddle it every day :D
And it is going to be either the one with the cake on it's tummy or the one with the rainbow.
OH YES.

They do :)
I have just remembered the yellow one with the sunshine on his belly. And the green one with the four leaf clover thing. So many! :D

The blue one was Sleepy Bear, or Grumpy Bear. The rainbow one was pink and named "Cheer Bear". I got my sister two for Christmas (she's 20, but we like nostalgiac stuff). I SOOO missed the Care Bears!

Do you live in the UK? If so where did you get them? :P I hope they stay in the shops long enough for me to purchase one :P

Re:
No, sorry - I live in Texas. I've always wanted to visit the UK though, since my grandmother came from there. I found mine in stores like Wal-Mart, and any store that dealt with movie memorabia.

Re:
I miss Walmart. I know everyone hates it, but it was a good way to kill a few hours when I was out there.. just gawping at the vast range of junk food :)

Re:
The only major store we have in this town is Walmart, and it's getting somewhat run-down. I love me some Target though. The nearest one is 20-30 minutes away.

Wal-mart IS good though, in stores where they keep it nice and run it properly. Ours has about 40 checkout lanes, and only 5 of them will be open. So you'll run in for one item, and have to sit through a long line - even at 11p. =o(

I'm sure you could have one of mine if you really wanted one :oP
I had champ bear, love bear(!), grumpy bear, sleepy bear and another one I think...

I put a plaster on sleepy bears paw though, and it got stuck :oP

Re:
Awwww :D
I think I am going to treat myself to one of the new ones in Birthdays, but thanks all the same! They just better have Birthday Bear!!
Argh I just know it will end up ontop of my wardrobe or down the side of the sofa with the other teddies. I think I will buy some of those funky teddy bear hammocks for when we move so they have somewhere to live :)

The rainbow one is cheer bear... what you really want is Wish Bear, because she made wishes come true as well. :) (turquoise with a shooting star on her tummy). I bloody LOVED the care bears, although it seems a little nauseating now...

Re:
Nooooo, I want the cake one :P
Did you have any as a kid?
I always wanted one, but obviously not enough. I had lots of My Little Ponies and a couple of Keepers and some Flower Fairies (I think my mum liked these more than I did) instead.

OMG KEEPERS! Yeah! I really wanted one of those, though less so after my brothers demonstrated how incredibly easy they found it to break into them :)

And yeah, I had some care bears (*ahem* still have...) - Wish Bear and Harmony Bear, and several of the little plastic ones but you couldn't cuddle them so they were less good... Friend Bear, Grumpy Bear (he was my favourite :)) Cheer Bear and - yes - Birthday bear.

yeah their backs opened with a little key thing, they were *so cool*!!!

Don't you think toys when we were young were so much better than these days?

Re:

I think they have better toys these days actually. everything makes a noise or flashes or moves or does something exciting. but im glad they are selling 80s toys again, for us :)

Re: Care Bears..... STARE!
Awww :) That's cute. I suspect there are a lot of kids out there that are being bought 80s and 70s toys because their parents remember playing with them :)
Cheer Bear was the rainbow one wasn't it?! I thought it was blue but according to the 'Which care bear are you' quiz it was pink!

Re: Care Bears..... STARE!
Yah.. no cheer bear is kinda yellow.
with the rainbow.

I had a site with tonnes of carebears stuff on it.
Not my site, just one I'd found.
I'll try to find it and post you a link.
It was great. :)

Re: Care Bears..... STARE!
It doesn't matter now, but when we were kids, you could have been beaten up for playing with girl toys
:P
I just messaged you on ICQ but I don't know if you're online. I shouldn't be either :/

Oh! I missed you.
I was on for a bit, then off until 4am.
Um.. I should go back to bed, though. ;)

Hehe true about being beaten up maybe.. but I never had that problem for some reason. Probably because I'm kinda big. I've only been in maybe 2 fights my whole life, and I've never fought back.

I had birthday bear for one of my birthdays - my mum gave it to me as I still had a dummy (I was quite young), I think we have a video of it somewhere. It sits on top of my TV at home, next to my Tux (the Linux penguin thing).

I need to get more Care Bear stuff. Wonder if anybody has put the carebear movie on Kazaa :P

Re:
Yes, that's the one :) Yellow.
I may have had or at least seen the movie. And I had a poster with all the different bears on it from Carrefour (supermarket type place). That was how I knew which ones I wanted :)
Weren't Care Bears for girls though Andy? :P

He is so cool. I have a picture on my digital camera somewhere of all the toys on top of my TV, I'll try and dig it out when I go home :)

I will have to take it to my pad :p

I don't think they were solely for girls, and I was young anyway :p

I never had a Care Bear either despite my pleading for one! I wanted the one with the rainbow on its belly. You can get second hand ones in quite good condition cheap off eBay

Re:
Apparently that chain Birthdays sell them, I think they are £12 but maybe it was £15.. not too bad anyway. If I can't find one I may get a second hand one, I've often looked but never got around to bidding ;)
I also got a Care Bears tshirt but it was naff and the transfer came off the first time I washed it!

When I was a kid the only Care Bear I had was a little plastic thing. Since I found Ebay, though, I've bought a few plushies online.. and some more of those little plastic things I had as a child. I also used to do voluntary work at a local Salvation Army Family Store, and one day while there I scored a really cool Care Bears video!! My favourite bears are Tenderheart Bear and Good Luck Bear.. although I don't have either of those as plushies yet. I can't believe shops are selling them again!!! *faints* I want some, dammit! I don't know .. I haven't seen any over here in Australia.. but man, I hope we get them!! Does that store that has them in the UK have a website? I'd love to be able to look at it! I hope you can buy yourself a Care Bear.. they are so cool!

Oh, I just love Care Bears so much.. hehe! My nephew who is 6½ years old watches the Care Bear video that I have, and he sometimes even plays with the little plastic Care Bears that I have. It's so cute :)

Re:
Awww :) I may have to start collecting them and spending all my wages! :P
I'm sure they will get to Australia.. if the UK and America have them and everyone;s going crazy and nostalgic, its only a matter of time. Do you have a Woolworths? It may be different where you are, I know that in South Africa it's a posh food shop!

Woolworths is a grocery store in Australia, yeah.. but we have like.. a department store of sorts that is associated with Woolworths that is called Big W. Perhaps we will get them there? I hope so.. *fingers crossed* :)
